Our Fraud Center

CLB&T works a new partner to assist in fraud detection/protection for our customers. If fraud is suspected on your account, you may receive one or more of these notifications:

  • A phone call/voicemail from our partner, Fraud Center. Callers will hear an automated voice and will be transferred to a fraud expert if fraud is suspected. If returning a call to verify your transactions, you will need to contact the number given in the voicemail or Clear Lake Bank & Trust for assistance. 

  • Email notification

  • Text message from short code 96923. 

It is extremely important to respond these messages and notifications promptly. Should you have any questions or need additional assistance, please contact us at 641.357.7121 and ask to speak to with a customer service representative or a personal banker.  


Victims of Scams/Identity Theft

If you're a victim of a scam or identity theft, we recommend the following resources: 

  • Credit Reports: Pull your credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion on a routine basis. Each agency is required to provide you with an annual credit report at no charge. Consider from one agency, then another after four months, and then from a third company later in the year. Repeat the process every year to take advantage of these free reports.

  • Credit Freeze: Don't have an upcoming need for credit? Consider putting a freeze on your credit with the agencies listed above.

Protect Yourself With Free Services 

  • As a CLB&T debit card holder, you are automatically eligible for MasterCard debit card benefits, but you must enroll your card. Below is a brief description of your benefits; click here for full program details. To file a claim or for more information on these services, call the MasterCard Assistance Center at 1-800-MasterCard (800.627.8372).

    • ID Theft Protection

      Access to identity theft resolution services should you believe you are a victim of identity theft. 

    • ID Theft Alerts

      ID Theft Alerts and Internet surveillance technology to help detect illegal trading and selling of personally identifiable information (PII) online.

    • Extended Warranty

      Additional 12 months of warranty for products within an initial manufacturer's warranty of 12 month or less. Will also double up to an additional 12 months as an extended warranty that is purchased by this cardholder.

    • Price Protection

      Reimbursement of the difference between the price paid for a product and a lower price found by the customer within 60 days of purchase, up to $250 per claim. Limit of 4 claims per 12 month period.

    • Satisfaction Guarantee

      Purchases made with the CLB&T debit care are covered for 60 days from the date of purchase as indicated on the receipt for a full refund in the event you are dissatisfied with your purchase and the store will not accept the item for return. Limit of $250/claim.
